This private home was built in the late 1960’s and has been in the same family since it was first purchased. It is located on the East end of the island about a quarter mile walk from the famous Morris Island Lighthouse. It has 4 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. The home was completely renovated in 2020 and the Beach Crosswalk is directly across the street. You are literally a 30 second walk to the beach. The home is located in a primarily owner-occupied area of the island and there is very little parking for day-trippers so you can enjoy a very uncrowded beach. The home features a large (10’ x 40’) front deck for relaxing and enjoying the ocean views or the beautiful sunrise. The front deck has a seating area as well as two lounge chairs for sunning when you still want to be close to the home. A large, screened porch (10’ x 28’) on the front offers a wonderful place to enjoy relaxing ocean views out of the sun.
The home has 4 large bedrooms all on one floor with two full baths. One bath offers a large, tiled shower and the other offers a deep soaker tub. Oversized sliding windows allow beautiful panoramic views of both the ocean and the marsh from all the bedrooms. French doors on the front allow the ocean breeze to run through the house when the climate is pleasant. There is a front seating area with a TV. The kitchen is equipped with beautiful stone countertops and a cook’s range with an electric convection oven and a gas cooktop. There is ample storage in the cabinets and pantry and the built-in wine fridge. The large dining table seats 8 and a separate breakfast area seats 4. The dining area boasts a gas fireplace. The family room on the rear of the home has great views of an expansive marsh behind the home, we in Charleston call it the “5000 acre back yard”. The family room has a 65” TV. The ‘Marsh side” has a large (10 x 40’) deck with 4 Adirondack chairs as well as two hi-top bistro tables. A full-size gas/charcoal grill/smoker is located on the back deck. You can relax and enjoy beautiful sunsets on the back deck overlooking the marsh with all of its natural splendor.
When you return from the beach you can clean off in a large outside shower with hot and cold running water. There is also a storage room on the ground floor for any extra storage needed. The storage area (9 x 28) also offers an additional refrigerator with a large capacity icemaker so you won’t be hauling bags of ice from the grocery. There is also an extra washer a dryer in the storage room. The gravel drive offers parking for three vehicles, parking on the grass is not allowed.
The home features a tankless gas water heater and the mini-split HVAC allows everyone to have their own climate setting. There is high speed internet (1000 mbs) in the home as well. The kitchen is equipped with ample stoneware, silverware, glassware and utensils, a 4-slice toaster, microwave oven, air fryer, and lime juicer for those unforgettable margaritas. Come relax and enjoy all Folly Beach has to offer on the quiet end of the beach.
There is a 4-seater golf cart available for rental.
